The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix – F1’s Fastest Street Circuit Awaits
The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix has quickly become one of the most exciting additions to the F1 calendar, with its stunning night race through the streets of Jeddah. Known as the fastest street circuit in F1, it’s a venue that promises high-speed thrills and dramatic action. Here’s everything you need to know as F1 heads to Saudi Arabia for another unforgettable race!

Jeddah Cornische Circuit
The Jeddah Corniche Circuit, introduced to the Formula 1 calendar in 2021, is a high-speed street circuit set along the stunning Red Sea coastline. At 6.174 km, it is one of the longest tracks on the schedule and the fastest street circuit in F1 history, with average speeds exceeding 250 km/h. Designed to promote thrilling wheel-to-wheel racing, its flowing layout features 27 corners, many of them high-speed kinks, creating a unique blend of precision and bravery.
Racing under the floodlights adds to the drama, as drivers navigate blind corners and rapid direction changes with little margin for error. The long straights and DRS zones provide ample overtaking opportunities, making Jeddah a fan-favorite for action-packed races.

Saudi Aranian Grand Prix 2024
A special weekend for Oliver Bearman! The British driver, who was still a Formula 2 competitor at the time, took over the wheel from Carlos Sainz after Sainz underwent surgery and was unable to race. Despite Sainz’s remarkably quick recovery, he couldn’t compete in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, giving Bearman the chance to make his Formula 1 debut in a Ferrari—an absolute dream for many drivers. And as if that wasn’t incredible enough, he finished 7th and scored points on his debut. This likely played a big role in securing his seat at Haas this year!
The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is always an exciting race and definitely one to look forward to. As one of the fastest street circuits on the calendar, it provides plenty of thrilling moments for fans.
Qualifying didn’t go smoothly for Nico Hülkenberg, who had to pull over due to technical issues. Meanwhile, debutant Oliver Bearman came close to making it into Q3 but missed out by just 0.036 seconds, finishing right behind seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.
The fastest in qualifying—who else but Max Verstappen! The Dutchman set a blistering time of 1:27.472, securing pole position with Leclerc behind him and teammate Sergio Pérez starting from third.
After Lance Stroll crashed and triggered a safety car, the order shuffled slightly, but in the end, the top three starters all made it to the podium. Max Verstappen took the race win, his teammate secured second place, and Charles Leclerc completed the podium in third.
